What is e-design?
Virtual Design
Every single package we offer can be completed remotely, from start to finish.
Virtual design, or E-Design, allows us to work with you no matter where you're located. You'll put in a little more legwork for things like taking measurements of your space, but your results will be identical.
How does it work?
Using video conferencing and file sharing, we'll tour your home, share files and photos, and even help you style and finish the space, all without needing to set foot in your home.
We've worked with clients in New York, Chicago, North Carolina, Maine, and more. We'd love to add your home to our list!

E-Design your space, start to finish
While every package we offer is available with E-Design, here's how it works with our Full Room Design package. You'll see that aside from a few changes, the process is very much the same.
When you're ready, get in touch with us to schedule a consultation. We can't wait to get started.
the design process
Working in the DC area, we're a hands-on, physical presence through your decorating project--but the design process is not actually very different at all when we're working together remotely. Here's the design process, and how it's different with E-Design:
Step 1: Intake meeting
During our intake meeting, we dig down deep into what you want from your space. Spending time in each room, we'll guide you through a conversation about what is and isn't working for you, taking into account everything from space use to furniture layouts to lighting to scale to décor.
With an E-Design project, our intake meeting happens over video conferencing. We'll have the same conversations and go through the same steps, while you conduct the tour of your space on your phone. We'll walk you through how to take the photos and measurements that we'll use to design your space.
Step 2: Design Plans
Your Design Plan will address all areas of the big picture of your design: floorplans, fixtures, flooring, furniture, upholstery, rugs, built-ins...everything. We'll create two different looks for you, with mood boards that help you visualize how everything will come together.
Step 3: Edits
After you choose which Design Plan you like, we'll swap out pieces and make changes to the designs based on your feedback. Once the look is finalized, we'll move on to paint colors, smaller furniture items, and secondary elements.
Step 4: Purchasing and installation
Once our Design Plan is finalized, we move forward with purchasing and installing new pieces. If we have any carpentry or renovation projects as part of our design, we'll also provide you with design specs that you can share with your contractor, and be on hand to answer any questions as they arise.
With an E-Design project, we'll keep tabs on installation and ensure everything goes smoothly, including being available to troubleshoot any contractor projects, all via video conferencing.
Step 5: Final styling
Once everything has arrived, we will work on finishing touches like plants, pillows, and décor. At the end, your home will be photo-ready and styled to perfection.
With an E-Design project, we'll select final decor pieces just like we've chosen all the bigger elements in your rooms, and provide you with mockups and other diagrams to show you just how to style your space.

Featured Review
Over the course of several meetings, via Zoom and in person, Jennifer took the time to get to know us, asking smart questions about our style preferences and, importantly, how we hoped to use our space — and then challenging our conventional notions about things like having a guest room and a large dining room table when in fact we host infrequently.
After a successful experience redesigning our first floor, we gave Jennifer full run of the house. Haven reimagined our bedroom, both bathrooms and two office spaces — remaking one room effectively no bigger than a closet into a sleek workspace that somehow easily fit more storage. The rest of our third floor went from a cramped and mostly unusable guest room to a cozy, relaxing space, replete with a turntable, TV, and pullout couch that can accommodate an overnight guest. There’s a flow now where none existed previously. There is way, way less clutter. And all of our furniture is stylish, functional — and it fits our smaller space without feeling overwhelming. We couldn’t be happier.
